Wigan Athletic head to the Mill Farm this afternoon to face AFC Fylde in their third pre-season friendly under manager Gary Caldwell.
The Latics previously beat the Coasters 4-1 ahead of last season's campaign. The fixture brings several familiar faces into opposition colours, including former players Ethan Mitchell, Corey Whelan and Chris Merrie, plus Head Coach Craig Mahon, who spent nearly 15 years working for Wigan Athletic Community Trust after coming through the Club's Academy.
Building Towards 2025/26
The friendly comes after Caldwell's squad faced Port Vale at the Brick Community Stadium, where 22 players featured. AFC Fylde, National League North Champions preparing for their first season in the Fifth Tier, have already tested themselves against League One sides Blackpool and Huddersfield Town.
