Wigan Athletic FC and Wigan Athletic Community Trust raised over £2,000 at this year's Wigan 10K, with head coach Gary Caldwell becoming the first Wigan Athletic head coach to run the event for the Trust.
Caldwell ran alongside coaching staff and members from both the Community Trust and Football Club. Participants from the Trust's Every Player Counts adult disability football sessions also took part, completing the 10K to support their participation in the Greater Manchester Ability Counts League.
Georgia Munro's first 10K victory
Georgia Munro, a Youth Engagement Officer at the Trust who supports vulnerable young people across the town, came first in the female category with a time of 38:34 in her first-ever 10K event.
Community celebration
The event celebrated community participation, with many runners completing their first 10K or achieving a new personal best.
