Wigan Athletic's Future Fund has raised £22,794 through support from 350 members during the 2026/27 campaign, according to an update from Academy Manager Jake Campbell and former Academy graduate Callum Jones.
The funding has already supported the next generation of Latics players with a pre-season development trip to a Royal Marines camp, multiple overnight stays for southern league fixtures and access to new technology supporting player recovery and monitoring.
Academy success in 2025/26
The Academy enjoyed a successful 2025/26 season. The Under-21s lifted the Central League Cup, the Under-18s were crowned Professional Development League North champions and 14 Academy players made their first-team debuts.
Committee applications now open
Applications are open for the 2026/27 Future Fund Committee. To apply, candidates must be current Future Fund members. Those interested can email futurefund@wiganathletic.com to register their interest.
