Wigan Athletic fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Wycombe Wanderers in Sky Bet League One on Saturday, conceding a second-half header from Dan Casey in a match the Latics dominated without creating clear chances.
The loss came at the end of a difficult week for the club, which received the tragic news of the sudden passing of Goalkeeping Coach Kevin Miller.
Murray's Assessment
Winger Fraser Murray acknowledged Wigan's control of the game but admitted frustration at their lack of penetration. "I thought we were on top without creating too much," Murray said. "I think we need to be better in the final third. When we're on top, we need to try and create better chances and obviously score, but it was disappointing."
Murray felt the team had plenty of possession without threatening Wycombe effectively. "I think we had plenty of the ball without hurting them too much," he explained. "That's something, obviously, with the break coming up, we'll look at, myself included."
Looking Ahead
Wigan face a cup fixture on Tuesday before a two-week break from league action. Murray said the extended time away from matches would be used to analyse and improve their attacking play, though he expressed a desire to return quickly and overturn the result.
