Wigan Athletic is inviting supporters to apply for membership of the Club's Fan Advisory Board (FAB) for the 2026/27 season. Applications are now open, with previous board members welcome to re-apply.
The Club has worked with the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) to develop the Fan Advisory Board structure and recruitment process. The FSA will also facilitate the independent selection process to ensure appointments are made fairly and transparently.
Board Membership and Structure
The Fan Advisory Board will consist of 12 members: five representatives from recognised supporter groups and seven independently elected supporters. Successful members will serve a two-year term until Summer 2028.
Wigan Athletic is committed to ensuring the FAB reflects the diversity of the fanbase and welcomes applications from supporters of all backgrounds, experiences and communities. The Club is hoping for greater female representation.
What the Board Will Discuss
The FAB will meet regularly throughout the season to discuss key supporter-focused topics including atmosphere, matchday experience, supporter engagement and connection, equality, diversity and inclusion, and growing the fanbase. The board is not a forum for discussing on-field matters such as team selection, tactics or transfers.
Meeting agendas will be agreed in advance, and a summary of each meeting will be published to ensure transparency for all supporters.
Member Responsibilities
FAB members will be expected to attend up to four in-person meetings during the season, represent the views of the wider supporter base, gather feedback from fellow supporters and supporter groups, support the Fan Engagement Team with occasional matchday assessments and supporter feedback exercises, and contribute positively to discussions.
