Anthony Cole-Johnson has been formally approved as CEO of Wigan Athletic by the Independent Football Regulator and has now taken up his duties in role.
Cole-Johnson addressed supporters ahead of the club's fixture against Stockport County, detailing his first weeks at the club. He has visited the Brick Community Stadium, Robin Park, Stadium Way, and Christopher Park, as well as spending time with academy staff at Edge Hall Road.
The new CEO has also met with staff, sponsors, and supporters at various locations including Laticafé, the Heritage Museum, and Memories.

Cole-Johnson publicly thanked staff across all club sites for their commitment. He highlighted the refurbished pitches at Christopher Park completed in the close season, funded by sponsorship and owner investment.
He identified engaging further with businesses in Wigan and surrounding areas as a priority, aiming to showcase the club's social reach and encourage more fans to experience the stadium's hospitality offering.
Squad and Competition
Fourteen new players were welcomed to the club following the transfer window closure. Cole-Johnson described the first team's progress as encouraging and noted that manager Gary's style of play is exciting and front-footed.
He acknowledged that League One remains highly competitive, with many clubs running significant deficit budgets, and stated that driving up revenues alongside owner investment would be his priority.
