Wigan Warriors wheelchair teams delivered commanding wins at Sheffield Eagles on Sunday, with both the First Team and Development Team securing emphatic victories across the Pennines.
First Team Victory
The First Team romped to an 86-30 victory in dominant fashion. Jack Heggie was a standout performer, scoring four tries and converting 12 of 14 kicks. Matt Turner added a hat-trick of tries, while Brogan Evans completed a hat-trick on her Super League debut.
Oran Spain and Adam Rigby also crossed the line, alongside interchange players Toby Burton-Carter. Wigan established a commanding 46-10 lead by half-time before extending their dominance in the second half.
Development Team Rout
The Development Team's performance was even more emphatic, winning 114-16 in a display of overwhelming strength. Chris Greenhalgh was outstanding with eight tries, while Dan Dutson scored four times. Mark Williams added five tries and converted 10 of 11 kicks.
Wigan built an extraordinary 52-0 lead after just 23 minutes. Oliver Steele and Lottie Harris each scored twice in a dominant second-half display.
