Wigan Warriors Chairman Professor Chris Brookes has praised the Community Foundation's weekly Walking Rugby programme for strengthening connections across the town. Professor Brookes attended a session on Monday morning to observe the impact first-hand.
Speaking at the session, Professor Brookes said: "What a great privilege to come to walking rugby league this morning. It absolutely sums up everything that connects this great Club and rugby league to the community. All sort of players taking part in the sport they love and most importantly, rugby league is that thread that connects every single part of this great town. I'm proud that Wigan Warriors, and the Foundation, runs walking rugby league to connect you with the Club in the town by providing this opportunity for us all."
