Two Wigan Warriors players represented Wales Women in a Rugby League World Cup warm-up match on Sunday. Carys Marsh started at hooker while Bethan Dainton captained the side at loose forward as Wales prepared for the tournament in Australia this October and November.

The match took place at The Gnoll, Neath. Canada Women dominated the contest, leading 10-0 at half-time through tries from Dani Franada and Megan Pakulis. Pakulis plays for York Valkyrie in the Betfred Women's Super League.

Wales could not break through in the second half. Canada added another try to secure a 14-0 victory.
