Wigan Council has approved a new anti-social behaviour (ASB) policy designed to provide a stronger and more consistent approach to tackling ASB across the borough.
The refreshed policy introduces a borough-wide framework intended to ensure incidents are identified, investigated and resolved in a fair, transparent and effective way. It covers all communities and housing tenures.
Four-step resolution model
The new ASB policy will adopt a four-step resolution model to help intervene early and resolve issues effectively.
What the council says
Councillor Kevin Anderson, cabinet portfolio holder for police, crime and civil contingencies, said the policy provides a clear and consistent approach while ensuring victims receive the right support.
"By working closely with residents and partners, the council aims to intervene early, resolve issues effectively and take robust action," Councillor Anderson added.
