Wigan Athletic Women are hosting a Summer Grassroots Football Festival at Edge Hall Road Community Stadium on Thursday, 20 August, from 10am to 2pm. The free event is open to girls aged 10-16 and will feature coaching sessions, small-sided games, family activities and the chance to meet Wigan Athletic Women's First Team players.
What's on at the festival
Participants will take part in coaching sessions and small-sided games, with the option of a behind-the-scenes stadium tour. There will be opportunities to meet First Team players, take photographs with them and see the 2025/26 league winners' trophy.
Beyond the pitch, the Family Zone will offer activities, an ice cream van and sweet stall. Crusty the Pie, the club's mascot, will make a special appearance during the day.
How to book
The event is free to attend, but places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Young footballers and their families must complete an application form to secure a place. Registration is encouraged as soon as possible.
