Wigan Athletic will travel to the SPORTA Arena on Saturday to face Stevenage in Sky Bet League One, with defender James Carragher looking ahead to the fixture after the recent international break.
Carragher told Latics TV that the break has provided an opportunity for the squad to reset and reflect on the opening stages of the season. He said: "It's a bit of a reset for everyone to become more aligned as a team and on the football pitch."
Reflecting on Early Season Performance
The defender acknowledged that the squad has reviewed the previous seven or eight games to identify what has worked well and where improvements can be made. Despite results not meeting expectations, Carragher stressed that this does not mean the team's approach has been entirely wrong.
He explained: "Just because of where we are in the league, and the results haven't been the best, it doesn't mean everything we've been doing is bad or not good enough. If we keep doing those things right and improve other things, we will start picking up more results."
Saturday's Fixture
Carragher expressed his eagerness for the return to competitive action. "We've been training over the past few weeks, but nothing beats a proper, competitive game, and hopefully, the work we've done over the past few weeks comes to fruition on Saturday, and we get an important three points," he said.
