Wigan Council is introducing new Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) to tackle anti-social behaviour in Wigan and Leigh town centres. The orders will run for three years and include targeted powers against e-bikes and scooters.
The council says the orders are designed to support police, council and other authorities in addressing a range of issues, reducing crime and helping residents feel safer in their communities.
Background
The introduction of the new orders follows an extensive review of previous orders and a public consultation held over the summer. The consultation gathered feedback from residents, businesses and the community sector.
