Wigan Borough will host stage of the Tour de France on Saturday 3 July 2027, when the world-famous cycling race visits the town as part of its opening phase.
Organisers announced the full route for the Grand Départ on Thursday 22 October in Paris. This will be the first time the Grand Départ has been staged in the UK in 13 years.
The Grand Départ is the opening phase of the Tour de France and features some of the world's top cyclists competing in the early stages of the race.
