Seven Wigan Athletic Academy players have signed their first professional contracts with the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The group comprises six members of the U18s squad û Rohan Taylor, Mason Goulding, Zac Edwards, John Paul Cavanagh, Seb Spelman and Joe Gilbertson û plus goalkeeper Ewan Dodgson from the U21s.
Academy Success
The U18s players helped their side win the Professional Development League North title and reach the Professional Development League National Final last season.

Academy Manager Jake Campbell said the club is thrilled to see the young players take the next step. "Their performances throughout their scholarships have shown they're ready for the challenges of U21s football, and we are really looking forward to supporting their continued development," Campbell said.
