Three Wigan Warriors players have been shortlisted for the 2026 Woman of Steel award, the competition's most prestigious individual honour. Jenna Foubister, Eva Hunter and Megan Williams are all in contention ahead of the Rugby League Awards Night in Manchester on Tuesday 29 September.
The nominations reflect an exceptional season for the Warriors, who are targeting a second successive domestic treble with the Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final scheduled for Sunday 27 September.
Foubister's Influential Campaign
Half-back Jenna Foubister, 19, has established herself as one of the leading playmakers in the women's game. She scored nine tries in 17 appearances across all competitions during 2026. Foubister delivered a Player of the Match performance in the Women's Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, creating two tries and providing three line-break assists as the Warriors won the trophy for a second successive year.
Hunter's Prolific Season
Reigning Woman of Steel Eva Hunter crossed for 23 tries in all competitions under coach Denis Betts. The second-rower has showcased devastating pace, powerful ball-carrying and defensive intensity throughout the season. Hunter made history by becoming the first woman to score four tries in a Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
Williams' Consistent Forward Play
Loose forward Megan Williams joined Wigan from St Helens ahead of the 2025 campaign. The England Knights international has quickly established herself as one of the competition's most consistent forwards. Since the Super Four phase began, Williams has scored four tries and become a key figure in Betts' side.
