Wigan Warriors Reserves have secured a place in the Reserves League Grand Final after defeating Wakefield Trinity Reserves in the Semi-Final.
The match began with a minute's silence to commemorate Sir Billy Boston, the Wigan legend. After an early Warriors charge, Sam Eseh Jr scored the opening try, with Josh Cartwright adding the conversion.
Wakefield responded through Dom Sinfield to level the game, before Kian McGann put the visitors ahead with a try on the wing. Myles Lawford converted to extend Wakefield's lead to 12-6.
Dayon Sambou brought Wigan back into contention with a try after a switch allowed Finlay Yeomans to carry the ball across to the winger. However, Wakefield maintained their advantage at that stage.
A late first-half try from Lukas Mason proved decisive. Mason found space to ground the ball, with Cartwright converting from a tight angle to give the Warriors the lead going into half-time.
The Warriors continued their momentum in the second half, scoring four additional tries to secure an emphatic victory and confirm their place in the Grand Final.
